Apparently the "j"s soften (in some unspecified way) the preceding consonant
(or following in jch), but evidently also act as /j/ or /j@/. I'm guessing
it breaks down into Jlikj-jeltijch-kjeit. Hang on, let me check my German
dict... ah yes, _Gleichgültigkeit_.
