"River Plate" is simply the anglification of the Spanish (and not a very
good one at that)

Those are simply well-known street names. C.Florida is stressed on the
_ri_; and it should be _Corrientes_ (who slipped up, A.L.Webber or Patti
Lupone??); they boast that Nueve de Julio is the widest street in the world.
