The Sassanian kings of Iran officially styled themselves
_Shah i Iran u Aniran_ "King of Iran and Not-Iran".

Another nice quote in the sam vein: at the funeral of a
Byzantine emperor there was a formula "Stand up king of kings,
the king of the world awaits you for the final judgment!"
