Sometimes the merchant creates and sends a "Paypal invoice"; perhaps also,
could there be a "Paypal.uk" independent of the one we know and love? It is
odd that PP here doesn't have any record of the transaction.
But-- you received the book, and you have a record that it was paid for. It
is good that you've notified PP and your bank, just in case you were
phished, but somehow this seems more or less legit to me.
What I don't understand, is how the merchant (individual?) was kind enough
to send the book before you'd paid for it (apparently). All my experience
with sellers/Paypal has been strictly _pay in advance_.
But anyway, this thread has become a little irrelevant, and deserves to be
dropped or continued privately.
