LMAO... My little brother envies me. Accordin' to him, I was nappin' in
my usual Sloth Mode - a survival trait I used in the summer heat in Houston,
TX. He was watchin' me jibber in my sleep. A mozzie landed on me & preceded
to drill me, but then withdrew & died.
My little brother swears that this happened. Says I musta ate too much
durian or somethin' equally revolting (he hates durian, says the smell
offends his sense of well-being... My little sister & I constantly rib him
that he musta been switched at birth cuz he sure doesn't act like a properly
iconoclastic Chang/Zhang. [Recently he accepted a
lucrative-but-potentially-stressful job with Microsoft ...*gasp* of all the
companies to choose, he would choose the most shamelessly unethical &
exploitive... also meaning he has to move from the Bay Area back to Texas
(Austin): talk about a "brain-fart" ... ::look of familial shame & chagrin on
face:: Then again my father does say that "the Wong Side of the Family" (my
mother's clan) has som't'in' to do with all my sibling's distressing
oddness... ]
OBCONLANG: [I think I asked this nearly a year ago, but I think since we
now have new, exciting/excitable new members on this esteemed list, it bears
asking once again.]
Any conlang onomatopoeia in respect to mosquitoes and other sound-making
insects?
Other than insect noise onomatopoeia, what other forms of sound-symbolism
do your conlangs have (i.e. how do cats, dogs, birds, rodents, etc. "sound")?
Any "buzz" (influence) from machinery, electronic devices, mass media, etc on
your conlangs - how much of an impact does technology have on your conlangs'
sound-symbolism?
