narethanaal (or 'the ramblings of a deranged linguistics student')

i figured that since i already typed all this up for my projekt i
might as well post it... if there are any glaring errors (or just
something you find confusing) please let me know before tuesday so i
can fix it before my poster presentation (more of a poster fair,
actually, with classmates walking around and looking at other
people's posters and asking questions if they have any [add sarcasm
here: really lookin' forward to that part])though probably easier
than getting up in front of the class and presenting it, it's also
prolonging the torture (can't just go up there and get it over
with)... anyway... on with the language...
narethanaal: Some Interesting Features:
~no cases (nominative, dative, etc.)
~no verb conjugations
~instead of adverbs: he ran quickly would become he ran with
quickness
~no gender- one word to encompass he, she, it, and anything in
between: sokra
~suffixing -a to the end of a word makes it plural
~negation: the free morpheme neh can be used separately to mean
no or not, but it can also be placed at the beginning of another
free morpheme to create an opposite meaning.
everything- kube, nothing- nehkube
~reduplication: adjectives and verbs can be transformed into nouns
when the first consonant to be followed by a vowel and its
aforementioned vowel are reduplicated and prefixed onto the original
morpheme
evil- spike, evilness- pispike
to sleep-tome, sleep/sleeping- totome
~verbs can also be made into nouns(the doer of the verb) by adding
the plural marker:
to make/create: anlai
makers/creators: anlaia
maker/creator: anlaian

~bound morpheme froge must be placed before a verb to indicate past
tense
For example:
to sing- veluen
to have sung/sang- froge veluen
~to indicate one is doing something presently:
to eat: tevil
becomes
to be eating: yest tevil
~the bound morpheme thare is placed in front of a noun to indicate
possession
her book- thare sokra munkath
~thare is also used to say I see (something) which would
translate as (something) possesses my vision
I see the monkey- to thare muhnki dkai keto
(the monkey possesses my vision)
or in a more complicated example:
he sees your monkey- thare tiot thare muhnki thare sokra keto
(your monkey possesses his vision)
and then there are phonetics but i need to translate them to x-sampa
and this post is starting to get sorta long anyway...
