That's how I'm learning Taiwanese Sign Language. There is very little
lexical similarity between TSL and ASL, but the few signs of Japanese Sign
Language that I know are identical or extermely similar to their TSL
counterparts. Except for Halellujah which is a compound of quite different
parts. Try checking you phone book for a Deaf Action Center. That's what
the Deaf community centers were called in Dallas. Deaf culture is
facinating -- so many unexpected, but totally logical, differences from the
surrounding hearing culture.
