So do I in principle, although I repeatedly find myself doing just
that. Since I have a problem with making up original-sounding vocabulary I
used a generator (which I much to my own surprise managed to write in Perl!
:-) to make the vocabulary of Sahlab. The generator assigned random
sequences of one to three well-formed syllables to a list of "glosses", and
I simply took the word glossed 'language' and let it be the name of the
lang. This has changed a good deal, however: now _sahl_ [saK] is the name
of a great lake near the center of the area where the lang is spoken, and
unincidentally also the mythological name of the Primeval Ocean, while
_-ab_ is a suffix denoting 'thing characteristic of...' -- or in this case
'language of...'.
