Hence NHG "au(e)"? My mother lived in the "village" of Aumuehle 'watermill', near Heringen (which in turn is near Bad Sachsa), just east of the old boundary. I put "village" in quotes because it literally consisted of a single isolated building, the old mill itself, which had been occupied by her mother's family time out of mind. As her sole descendant, I suppose I have some moral claim to this building, although I suppose the DDR nationalized it in 1946. -- John Cowan I am a member of a civilization. --David Brin
