Accident in part.
Scots Gaelic formerly used both grave and acute accents (to know why,
you'll have to asks somebody who knows more about the intricacies of
SG). Back in the 1960, I believe, there were some minor orthographic
reforms, one of which was that the acute accent was done away with and
most if not all of its uses were replaced solely with grave accents.
