Western dialects of Valdyan have [dZ] where central and eastern dialects have [j] and some southern dialects have nothing at all. Jeran may hear his name pronounced ['eran], ['e:ran] or even ['e:rjan] in Idanyas, ['jeran] (the standard pronunciation) in Valdis and Veray, and ['dZeran] in Ildis and Tal-Crun. Valdyan doesn't have any other affricates either.
