Have you tried hard apple cider?  If you like sweet, which I infer
from the wine cooler comment that you do, it's hard to beat cider,
IMO.  I'm especially fond of a UK brand called Woodpecker(tm),
although I'm medically unable to drink alcohol these days. (And mostly
don't miss it - was never much of a drinker ,and like yourself I hate
the taste of beer.)
