I also like plain club soda.  Preferably with a slice of lime.
Failing that, plain soda water/seltzer (like you used to be able to
get out of soda fountains using a tiny button that bypassed all the
syrup injectors) will do.  But sometimes the bartender/server will be
inexperienced and mix it up with tonic.  Ugh, quinine.  Bleargh.
