What's funny about this (interesting) discussion is
that in fact, politics don't work at all the theorical
way we describe them. This is kind of "surface
scheme", if I may say, or a scenery.

The reality is that politicians are very closely
intricated with business and lobbies, as we just heard
once more about the Bush administration (but it is
exactly the same in France, and everywhere in the
world I guess). What are the institutions of a country
or whom you may vote for are of really little
importance. You never vote for Coca Cola or Boeing or
Halliburton or whatever, yet they make the law the way
they want it, and they place their men where they can
be useful. The rest is all illusion.
