The primary distinction in Early Lahabic is a trivalent opposition of
aorist, perfect, and imperfect (more Ancient Greek influence; secondarily,
an oppoisition of tense in non-future, future, and inceptive; thirdly, an
opposition of realis and irrealis, and I'm not sure the passive exists
anymore outside derivational forms.
Examples:
tyaien- see
Realis conjugations are formed from ROOT+ -ejm-
Non-future
tyaieneima'z (aor) I glance(d)
tyaieneimoz (impfv) I see/saw/look(ed) at/ am seeing/am looking at
tyaieneimaz (pfv) I have seen/looked/examined
Future
tyaieneimi'z (aor) I will see (once or fleetingly)
tyaieneimez (impfv) I will see for a period of time
tyaieneimiz (pfv) I shall see, intend to see with an objective
Inceptive
tyaieneimu'z (aor) I begin to see suddenly
tyaieneimoz (impfv) I begin to see for a period of time
tyaieneimuz (pfv) I begin to see for a purpose, to examine
Realis Infinitives are formed from ROOT+ejm+so: -> ejso:
Irrealis Infinitive are formed from ROOT+ej+so: -> ejso:
Infitives
tyaienaiso' (aor non-fut/pfv non-fut)
tyaienoiso' (impfv non-fut/impfv incept)
tyaienu'eiso' (aor incept)
tyaienueiso' (pfv incept)
tyaieni'eiso' (aor fut)
tyaieneiso' (impfv fut)
tyaienieiso' (pfv fut)
Irrealis conjugations are formed from ROOT + ej -
tyaieneia'n (aor) I see
tyaieneima'n (aor) I see
tyaieneima'n (aor) I see
tyaieneima'n (aor) I see
Imperative/jussive forms are identical to the irrealis future second and
thid forms.
