Actually, I don't agree with you about parasites. They too have their
place. A parasite is sort of like AllNoun: stripped to the bare minimum
it needs to keep going, no redundant parts.
The distinction we're implicitly making, of course, is that called in
_Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance_ "classic beauty" vs. "romantic
beauty". In music criticism I think it's called architecture vs. texture.
