I didn't. "Nature's beauty is skin deep." Underneath the skin is a host of
horrible little uglies, since it is universally true that parasites are not
part of what is deemed beautiful and orderly. What a bizarre response to
make to such a benign comment on John's part. Meanwhile, a wild (and
domesticated!) animal's parasites are usually above the skin: ticks, mites,
fleas...
