Yep - and I've come across people in the UK who show similar confusion between [f] and [T]. I remember well reading 'enuth' (= enough) in a post-16 year old student's work not so long ago.

Good point. I have little doubt that Arrius was trying to be "posh", as was the headmaster I was thinking of when I wrote the previous e-mail.
