MNCL has the same stems for both "pronouns", "adjectives", and "adverbs",
and the same "cases" as "nouns".
2 of the demonstratives are actually locative forms of the 1st and 2nd
person pronouns:
moc- from m- (1st person), near speaker
moca (ABS) = this/these as pronoun
moco (Qual) = this/these as adjective
moce (Pred) = here
toc- from ta (2nd person), near addressee
toca (ABS) = that/those as pronoun
toco (Qual) = that/those as adjective
toce (Pred) = there
The 3rd demonstrative has its own root:
l- away from both speaker and addressee
la (ABS) = that/those over yonder
lo (Qual) = yon
le (Pred) = yonder
There is also a generic anaphoric root:
Z-
Za (ABS) = he/she/it/they
Zo (Qual) = the
