In Poland it's called <potop> (the use of this term is nowadays restricted
almost only to this war and to biblical Flood). And description of almost
every historic monument (esp. castles) contains sth like "turned into ruin
(or completely burned or at least heavily damaged) during Nordic War(s)".
(I've heard the loss on this field is comparable to this of IIWW). It was
also one of the important factors of decrease of religious tollerance.
That's the relativity of the history.
