Given the heavy influx of English words, I suppose Japanese is well on its
way to becoming an IE language, though. :)

P.S. Just kidding. I am well aware that just because English is 70%
Latin/French does not a Romance language make.
P.P.S. My wife, who spent four years in Japan, was better able to understand
the change English experience after 1066 when I compared it to the situation
in Japanese.
P.P.P.S. I have the number, "10,000 English loans in Japanese" bouncing
around in my head. Can anyone confirm/deny?
P.P.P.P.S. I have gotten into the bad habit of speaking katakana English. I
especially love to add -u to the end of words...
