That's normal style (except in the first reference) for _The New York
Times_ and papers that copy it. This occasionally leads to absurd
results, as in the obituary for Elvis Presley (written by Molly Ivins),
where after the first reference he was "Mr. Presley" throughout.
Even more bizarre is the fate of rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg, who becomes
"Mr. Dogg".
