In Brazilian Portuguese, we have some recurring sufixes. I remember now of
the following: -lândia for countries, specially imaginary ones (from English
"land"), and -polis (from Greek, which means "city"). We also have -nia to
refer to places. For instance:
Disneylândia
Sumiçolândia
Anápolis
Goianápolis
Claudinápolis
Florianópolis
Petrópolis
Goiânia
Pomerânia
Ucrânia
Macedônia
Altônia
Chechênia
