Accidentally, I have a system like that in S7. Funnily, it's one of the discussed degree affixes: there is a vague degree expressing the degree is unexpected. So that 'kana' you'd get in S7 by using 'size' + 'unexpected'. It'd basically be translated just as that, e.g.: unexpectedly sized dog (Only this is one word in S7.) However, this could mean a large one or a small one, depending on the situation. In this way, it seems to be different from 'kana', which has a fixed meaning (if I understand it correctly). So the relative size of things must be lexicalised. Well, I would not want to do that. What is <person>-kana, for example? A large one or a small one? :-) Or is 'person' classified as something else? Perhaps it is defined by superior intelligence (compared to other animates). Then <person>-kana is a stupid person. Ok. :-) Funny. (Ok, you said it's about size only, but then <person>-kana would probably not be feasible.)
