In my usage, "bug" has never been limited to "insect". Spiders, for
instance, are not insects, but they are definitely bugs. For my money,
anything in phylum Arthropoda qualifies for bughood, including shrimp
and lobster (sure, they're yummy, but they're still basically aquatic
bugs).
