Anian holds a position not unlike Latin or Sanskrit -
a language of ancient religious and philosophical
literature; its locutions tend to be more flowery.
[Anian is now studied solely as an adjunct to the
study of the Tcani, or Precepts, of the Anian
religion.]
"Qua X" is a common way of introducing the principal
object of a sentence in Mentolatian. The T-shirt
sentence is: Qua fomand oglammaíjno : durem fomandu
dauv! (Concerning language in death; make (a) language
thou!) The national motto is: "Qua trevi, quafiri
londíjno muntu ogronu" = "Of herbs, for man's
wellbeing mint (is) the acme"
[Mentolatum is a land rich in farmland and populated
by a peaceable agricultural folk. Their chief exports
are medicinal herbs and dairy products. They boast two
thousand kinds of mint alone. If it's not entirely
apparent, Mentolatian is in some way connected to the
Aryan language family; though its affinites and
history are not understood well.]
Watuguar has no copula, so it's necessary to find
another way of saying that I am something. The usual
way is to describe the thing, then say "I do that
too".
So, "dondonas es coelleia, ta ona vuran." = I am a
priest. Literally it's "The prayers their holly wands;
that I carry."
[There are two known priesthoods, one carries long
cane wands, the other holly wands. Also, the first
person is differentiated for gender: ona = I masc.;
sera = I fem. Likewise, -an = 1s.masc.; -as = 1s.fem.]
