Could anyone give me a little advice on starting a conlang? I have just
discovered conlanging and am devoloping a very logicalconlang called
GUILTERE. Here is what I have so far:
The alphabet, tenses, suffixes, and prefixes
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXY
F = English P sound
P = English PH sound
I = stretched english E sound
'ez = sufix to pluralize a word (counted as one letter)
bob = currently doing (prefix)
dad = going to do(prefix)
mim = already did(prefix)
'ock = to make a command (suffix)
EXAMPLE
GENWAK'ock = look
NUMBERS - NOMBRA'ez
YUN = one
YAN = two
YEN = three
YON = four
YIN = five
LUN = six
LAN = seven
LEN = eight
LON = nine
LIN = ten
YUN-ET-_____ = 1_
YAN-ET-_____ = 2_
YEN-ET-_____ = 3_
YUN-ET-____-ET-____ = 1__
YAN-ET-____-ET-____ = 2__
YEN-ET-____-ET-____ = 3__
ect.
PEOPLE - XORG'ez
TI('ez) = he(s)/she(s)
TU = you, they
DERJ = I, me
DETU = us,we
SIZES - SEIS'ez
CHI = small
LEE = big
MEE = medium
EATING/FOOD - bobLAL/LAL
CHA = meat OR carnivore
WHA = vegtable OR herbivore
WHACHA = meat/vegtable OR omnivore
LAL = food, non-specific(if prefix added EAT or ATE or EATING depending on
prefix)
ANIMALS - ONI'ez
ONI-CHI-WHACHA = animal, small, omnivore (cat, dog, etc.)
ONI-LEE-WHA = animal, small, herbivore(cow, goat, etc.)
SENSES - KOLAP'ez
SMU = smell
SMA = taste
GENWAK = sight
TELCH = touch
THCH = hearing
add prefixes/sufixes to make see, saw, look, smelled, smell, etc.
EXAMPLE
!TU bobSMU ONI-CHI-WHA
You smell (like a) cow. (see next section to understand why there are no
words for like and a)
Constructing Sentences
Subject, verb, object should be the order in constructing sentences. The are
no like or as or the words in GUILTERE, so if you are translating you have to
add them. Since there are no words like as, are, like, and do, for questions
you must identify them by at begining of the sentence saying QEST and at the
end of the sentence saying QEST. Also new sentences are denoted by a !
EXAMPLES
!QEST TU bobGENWAK DERJ QEST
(Do) You see me?
!GENWAK'ock ONI-CHI-WHACHA
Look (at the) cat.
!TU SMU
You smell.
