Let's try again.
My mother language is portughese, a V2 language, I think.
We say:
Ele FOI ao cinema.
He WENT to movies.
Os meninos SAO alegres.
The boys ARE happy.
And also:
Ontem ele FOI ao cinema. / Ele FOI ontem ao cinema / Ele FOI ao cinema
ONTEM.
Yesterday he WENT to movies. He WENT yesterday to movies. He WENT to
movies yesterday.
Alegres SAO os meninos.
Happy ARE the boys.
And of course:
Os estudentes CONTINUAM INDO 'a escola.
The students ARE GOING to school.
Os estudantes indo 'a escola SE PERDERAM. (or PERDERAM-SE).
The students, when going to school, LOST the way.
Always V2, or better, the mostly V2.
Reading english texts I found also the V2 order. Only it isn=B4t if you
consider the Adv the modifies the Verb an element to count...
But in portughese, also english, there are others constructions.
thanks, yours, daniel.
