Next would be to track the various creoles, dialects of Standard French as she
is spoke, and compare them to Standard French, and then come up with the next
Standard French, of a thousand years hence, and maybe half a galaxy away.

Of course, I'd also want to track down the melting of Vulgar Latin into
Provencal and Normandy French and Catalan ... ;)
