Hmm, that one's funny! :-) I knew this neat feature of Dutch, but this
one's really nice.  In German, there are three alternatives, one of
which is underspecified:

  Der Hirsch rannte durch den Wald.           (ambiguous)
  Der Hirsch rannte im Wald umher/herum.      (first sentence above)
  Der Hirsch rannte durch den Wald hindurch.  (second sentence above)

Funny. :-)

('umher' is more written languages, while 'herum' is more colloquial,
BTW.)
