I found an interestin' novel titled _The Dazzle of Day_ by Molly Gloss
(Tor Books, ISBN 0-312-86336-5) that has Esperanto scattered all throughout.
The novel about Esperanto-speaking (L2 mostly) Quakers from all over
Earth settling a new home planet.
Ursula Le Guin (Grandmother Little Bear Woman) has this to say of this
novel:
"This miraculous fusion of meticulous 'hard' science fiction with unsparing
realism and keen psychology creates a vast, bleak, beautiful vision of the
human future - a triumph of the imagination."
BTW again thanx to those who have been contributing to my
"googolgigglabyte" sig.line (& special grateful acknowledgement that Ms.
Nicole "Fuzzybluemonkies" possibly planted the inspiration in my darker
recesses of my Higher Primate Monkey-Brainies ;)
I am trying to obtain - ferinstance - equivalent or rough/mutant slang
translations of "googolgigglabyte" in Spanish, Russian, Hindi, PinYin or
Romanized Mandarin, Esperanto, Klingon, etc.
Eventually all of this _may_ end up on a webpage - possibly with detailed
explanations for most of the more "obscure" translations plus due
credits/links to the conlangers and their conlangs.
