Hmm... probably I do use [A] for the first vowel... and I schwa the second
one: definitvely not [A], [Q] or [ow] for the second syllable, mainly when I
give my complete name in a sentence.  Standalone in a careful pronunciation
I will probably say [k_hArlos] with a glideless [o] and a secundary accent.

(anyhow, I am not a native speaker of English, so...)
