    Inspired by recent phonological discussions and an article (with
beautiful photos) on Egypt's new Bibliotheca Alexandrina [in the April 2002
issue of _Smithsonian_ magazine], my ever-mutating _linga-lego-lila_
("language-word-play") project is now Alexiteca, _ Aalexsit'exaa _
/a.leksi.th_heka/ - "a/the--word(s)--bag/case/container" ;) serious and
playful at the same time >:}
    Aalexsit'exaa is to be created from modified roots and words mainly from
Greek & Latin, with some modified items from Sanskrit, Romanized Arabic,
Japanese, and other languages. Basically, Aalexsit'exaa is an Indo-European
polyglot * with its own distinctive phonology and orthography ( * sort of
like English is a Germanic polyglot, but unlike English, Aalexsit'exaa is
_possibly_ more phonetic -and- aesthetically intriguing };)
    My basic wordroot-list is going to be based on an expanded &
"hypermodernized," neo-Futurist(ic) version of the Dublex word-list
(www.langmaker.com).

PHONOLOGY (¡X-SAMPA!)       ORTHOGRAPHY:

    CONSONANTS, etc.:

p  b   t  d         k  g                p  b    t  d        x  g
   m     n                             m       n
     f  v   s  z    Z           h                    f  v      s  z   :j
h
                     r\`     j                                   rr       j
               l                                        l

in addition: consonants can be aspirated:
    /t/ => /t_h/            t'
    /d/ => /d_h/            d'
    /k/ => /k_h/ , etc. x'  , etc.

affricatives:
     /dZ/           d:j
    /@ks/           'xs
    /@gz/           'gz

    VOWELS, other LIQUIDS, RHOTICS, etc.:

i           u           i             u
            U                       U
  e         o             e         o
        @                       <<SEE NOTE BELOW>>
        3`                        r
    a                     aa

    >> NOTE:
    schwa /@/ is  _ ' _ initially;
     _ a _ medially (&, in some cases, final);
     _ ~r _ if stressed, it is rhoticized /"@`/ or pronounced /"@3`/or /"@r\`/
In all cases - if necessary, the schwa sound can be substituted by
"simpler"/a/ or even aspiration of the letter immediately before it :)

etc:
    voiced labial-velar approximant, semi-vowel /w/  _w_

    diphthong /aI/ _y_

    Other diphthongs (& possible triphthongs?) are to be formed from the
above vowels (& liquids, approximants, semi-vowels, etc.)

    * MORPHOSYNTAX (tentative idea):

    Aalexsit'exaa is mainly Isolating/Analytical SVO (with some Agglutinating
aspects) based on pidgin/creole language tendencies (TMA* grammatical
particles/words, etc.).                                     *Tense-Mood-Aspect

    Feedback? Creative critiques?? Suggestions??? Ideas???? huh, huh? ;)

    Thanx in advance for your time-&-space in this matter ;)

creation, destruction, & re-creation, the folding & unfolding of the cosmos...
both the delight & enjoyment of this moment, & the play of [the] God[head]
("the universe is what happens when God wants to play").
