This is why I think some rich benefactor should fund an electronic database of linguistic info on minority languages like Frisian, for the good of all mankind (Well at least those who have access to the internet). While my schools library is decent, it doesnt have very many grammars of languages, except major ones like Japanese. Although I found a book about various oceanic languages.

Odd hmm, perhaps I should look sometime. Anyway, the cool find in the subject is about a gem I found in my school's library today. My professor was sick, so I didnt have class, and decided to go to the library. In the linguistics section (surprisingly there's a lot of books there for such a tiny library), i found a book on the world's writing systems. the info is: The World's Writing Systems, Edited by Peter T. Daniels and William Bright. Printed by the Oxford University Press, and the date it was published was 1996. It's pretty thick (920 pages total) and talks about many many writing systems (and describes them too). It pretty much has just about every known living script (and extinct ones like hieroglyphics). The price at amazon is $165.00 US. A bit expensive for me now, but perhaps next year I can buy it. At least for now I can keep checking it out from the library. ________________________________________________ The rattan basket criticizes the palm leaf basket, still both are full of holes.
