For a long while I was rather ashamed of my native language, but of late I have
become fond of it. It has a certain...quirkiness...that I like. And it can be
beautiful, when used properly.

As to French--I don't know that language, but hearing or seeing it, it seems
over-refined. Older French seems more...elegant.
