I found some help about modern Provencal. 'j' is
supposed to be pronounced "like in the [English] word
'job'". Could well have been the same in Old Provencal
? Anyway, I doubt it could be, either the French,
either the Spanish, either the German pronunciation.
(What did that word mean ? 'To aperceive', maybe ?)
