on : http://www.lexilogos.com/provencal_prononciation.htm I found some help about modern Provencal. 'j' is supposed to be pronounced "like in the [English] word 'job'". Could well have been the same in Old Provencal ? Anyway, I doubt it could be, either the French, either the Spanish, either the German pronunciation. (What did that word mean ? 'To aperceive', maybe ?) ===== Philippe Caquant "High thoughts must have high language." (Aristophanes, Frogs) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
