What if

I think the US would have been a majorly different place in many ways,
but still would have allied with GB during WW1, more for economic
reasons. The US almost did have German as the official lingo by like 1
or 2 votes of Congress or percents. I forget the whole story. To keep
politics out of this, I will drop it from there, Lusitania was a set up,
but the US was largly Irish or Germans and it almost kept us from the
Allied side, or people were not into another bloody European war, we had
lived thru a few already, from the French-Indian War (War of Spainish
Succession or was it ... another),to the War of 1812 (Napoleonic wars),
to a few others.
We still would have had the strong trade ties with GB, but it would have
taken more than the deliberate sinking of the Lusitania (with its war
arms) to get us on the side of the British.
