I, too, learned Spanish from Cubans and Puerto Ricans at SUNY Brockport. Then I spent time in Honduras in the Peace Corps. That rather solidified it for me. They spoke about eating the s's. Another dialectical variation I like & have picked up is the unvoiced alveolar trill at the end of a word. It's usually accompanied by a hiss of air. Charlie
