Beg to differ. I learnt the difference 'tween German _nach Hause_ and _zu
Hause_ by the mnemonic that the longer German _nach Hause_ corresponds to
the shorter Swedish _hem_ and the shorter _zu Hause_ to the longer _hemma_.
(Actually, 'tworks in English too; short _home_ vs long _at home_, but
that's pure coincidence.)
