Perhaps, though I'd like to know the real circumstances rather than heresay.
It's a touchy issue, esp. considering the favoritism given Christianity in
the USA for so long. Some people see giving space and time for religious
groups to meet as supporting that religion.
I, myself, can still remember being forced to attend Bible readings in
public school up through 8th grade with treat of suspension if I didn't.
One of my religions (Paganism) has creation stories etc. just as does
Christianity. My other religion (Buddhism) does not, as I really doesn't
care how the world got here. Myself?
