Germany also has Mother's Day (Muttertag) on the second Sunday in May.
Father's Day is typically considered to fall on Ascension Day (40 days
after Easter; 25 May this year), but is not such a big thing. The most
common activity is not children making cards for their fathers but men
taking advantage of the public holiday and going out with the friends
and getting drunk. (You see lots of bicycles and "Bollerwagen"
(hand-drawn... carts, I suppose) with crates of beer; I think canoeing
is also popular if you're near a good river.)
Cheers,
