I thought ecclesiastical Latin was descended from the Latin of the
Vulgate, which was (later) Vulgar Latin, not Classical?
Anyway, formal/literary English is also a conlang in this sense. An artificial
construct based on a natlang but grammatically distinct from all natural
dialects.
