Just thought I'd chime in here.
Kevin told me he liked my Njaama script:

So that was what I inspired it. I'd guessed what he meant was
the various characters that sort of cross over (and under) other
characters, so I decided to do that. I did the vowels first (they're
on the right side. They all have a vertical line, and something to
their right), then the onsets (the "main" part of each syllabic block),
then the tone characters (inspired directly by Njaama), and then
I thought I'd throw the codas (which became medial onsets) on
top. I originally thought of doing them on the bottom, but it
would've interfered with the vowel /o/ (the one with the swoosh
that goes underneath), and would've looked too much like my
script for Sheli (though those are vowels):

Anyway, I guess it was semi-inspired by Devanagari and Hangul,
but I'm not too familiar with either system (which is silly, because
I should be). Mainly, though, it was Njaama and Sheli, and some
suggestions from Kevin. I was pretty pleased with how it turned
out.
