ocular as in, short o sound ^_^ like in odd, top, cot, etc..
as for the air..the sound is more a combination of sounds (ayer or so..the a
is long)
the au in cause...this doesn't sound like a short o at all ^_^ it's the
sound when you have au or aw together, like in claw, cause, shawl, caw, and
more or less like the a in fall and call..and also an onomatopoeia when
girls are wooing over how cute something is (aaaaaawwwwww....)
As for accents, I've only been in NYC once ^_^ (and that was an hour layover
that turned into sitting in the plane on the runway for some 5 hours) I am a
resident of St. Louis, and have been all my life ^_^
Though I oughta learn those ASCII phoenetic thingies...out of curiosity,
where would be a good place to find a chart of them? ^_^
