It's also identical with what's called a Vigenere
Polyalphabetic Cipher Tableau, a type of secret code
that was believed to be unbreakable from the time it
was invented in 1466 until it was finally cracked in
the late 19th century.
BTW: I wrote a program to do this with a lexicon file
I have of 3,000 common English words and created an
instant 3,000 word dictionary file for my next
conlang.
They're pretty good words too. Now I just need to add
in some rules for how nouns and verbs and so forth are
formed in the language. It's be pretty cool starting
out to design a new conlang with a rich ready built
vocabulary of thousands of words.
