This doesn't really count, but...
When living in Japan, I came across the expression "karooshi" (to die
from overwork -- a common phenomenon at the time). I had never seen
it written, but one night in a dream the three kanji came blasting
across the ether at me. Upon waking, I looked up the term in the
dictionary and the kanji were exactly right. Shaken, I remember
thinking, "Man, I've been here waaaaaaaaay too long."
