Okay, it looks like just about everyone is happy with "Fight linguistic
extinction: invent a language" so, here's how I'd like to go about
this:
Anyone who wants to participate can send in as many of his conlangs as
he wants, the more the merrier. With each translation, this is what I'd
like to have: the sentence in the language, an interlinear, and any
special notes about preferred typefaces or special scripts. It would be
best if anyone with a native script sent me this as an image file (.gif
or .jpg or .bmp) even if he has a font for the script, because how am I
supposed to know how to type in it? But please, if there is a native
script, do send roman transliteration as well for the booklet. Also,
I'd like all this stuff for two sentences: "Fight linguistic
extinction: invent a language" and "Invent a language" in case we run
out of room and have to use the smaller one. But I don't think this'll
happen.
Also, we'll need someone to provide translations for Quenya, Sindarin
and SolReSol (Klingon's lexicon is, as I said before, copyrighted, so I
think it best we stay away from it for legal reasons). Oh yeah, and
bala-i-balan (sp?) too.
I'm trying to find the best place to have them made. Unfortunately,
www.cafepress.com (the place Thomas Leigh suggested) will only print on
white t-shirts, and I remember that a choice of white and/or black was a
pretty high priority last time. So I'm looking around.
Also, I hope that lurkers whose conlangs are developed enough will send
in translations and order t-shirts too. I know I want as many langs as
possible on my shirt!
