The fun part about Egyptian, is we do have some ideas on how it was pronouced, with some ties to Berber and other north african languages, but also it is that the Phonecians seem to have adapted some of the heiroglyphs for an alphabet versus pictograph or ideographs.. Apis the bull > alif/alpha Nu water > Nu Mike
