semantic spheres of derivation

I'm curious, looking for opinions, or knowledge, whichever you can provide.
At what semantic spheres does one need to start deriving? Or in the
converse: At what semantic spheres can one still have unanalyzable
monosyllables? For example, parts of the body are basic, right? They could
be roots themselves but don't need to be derived form anything, right?
Similarly colors, common objects, etc. Can we come up with more categories?

Thanks,
Jennifer

hmmm. I think I'll make a word that combines "opinion" and "knowledge".
