Well stations like C-Span do provide for such things. But they do not get much publicity. For the next four years, however, there will be a lot of attention given to the continuing investigation of the Florida election. Florida-Gate (hey, conlangers -- a new word) will perhaps get as much attention as Watergate, though it seems unlikely to bring down a President in mid-term.. So the media acts reactively, never pro-actively.
